Overview

PRIVATE CLUB INTRODUCTIONS

Luxury Restaurant Guide members are invited to enjoy a one-off dining-led introduction to Barnsgrove. Access is arranged via the digital Experience voucher in the LRG members app, where full details and reservation instructions can be found.

Set on the edge of the Hampshire village of Greywell, Barnsgrove represents a new kind of countryside private members’ clubhouse — one that blends countryside calm with contemporary social life. Created by Jo and James Butler as part of their family’s 1,500-acre working farm, the club sits quietly within the rolling Hampshire Downs, offering a refined yet relaxed setting where work, dining and community meet.

Inside, the mood is understated but carefully considered. Soft natural tones, curved architectural details and generous windows give the space a sense of light and ease, while Palmers Bar and the Orchards Café form the social heart of the clubhouse. Here, members gather throughout the day to enjoy seasonal, health-led dishes that celebrate thoughtful cooking and high-quality ingredients — whether for a leisurely lunch, an early supper, or simply coffee with friends.

Barnsgrove is not a traditional country club, nor is it a formal members’ institution. Instead, it has been designed as a place where people can spend time well — meeting colleagues, reading in a quiet corner, enjoying the landscape, or joining one of the club’s regular community events.

Alongside its dining and social spaces, the clubhouse also offers a studio for classes and wellness rooms, and a pair of covered padel courts in a beautifully converted barn — quickly becoming one of the most popular ways members gather, play and unwind against the backdrop of the Hampshire countryside.

Through Luxury Restaurant Guide, members are invited to discover Barnsgrove through a one-off introductory visit for lunch or dinner — an opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the clubhouse and understand why it has quickly become one of the countryside’s most talked-about new private members’ destinations.

From time to time, Barnsgrove events may also appear on the Luxury Restaurant Guide events calendar, offering members further opportunities to experience the club’s lively social programme.
