Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2026

10th Feb 2026

The Michelin Guide remains the most influential benchmark in global dining, recognising restaurants that demonstrate exceptional technique, consistency and personality in the kitchen. Each year, the guide highlights those operating at the highest level across Great Britain and Ireland.

The 2026 awards saw 20 new One Michelin Stars and two new Two Michelin Stars, with no new Three Star restaurants. This brings the current totals to 192 One Star, 23 Two Star and 10 Three Star restaurants across Great Britain and Ireland.

Among the most talked-about additions was Bonheur by Matt Abé (main image), which secured Two Michelin Stars just months after opening in November 2025 at 43 Upper Brook Street in Mayfair, in the former Le Gavroche site — one of London’s most storied dining addresses.

What Do Michelin Stars Mean?

Michelin Stars are awarded by anonymous inspectors and recognise restaurants at three levels:

  • One Star – High-quality cooking, worth a stop
  • Two Stars – Excellent cooking, worth a detour
  • Three Stars – Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey

Restaurants are judged on the quality of ingredients, mastery of technique, harmony of flavours, personality of the chef and consistency over time.
