Dinner by Heston Blumenthal
Knightsbridge, London
Overview
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, conceived in the late '90s, delves into historical gastronomy for its modern-day dining experience. Blumenthal's fascination with 19th-century savory ice creams, Tudor dining theatrics, and Alice's Wonderland adventures shaped the menu. Collaborating with food historians and exploring 14th-century cookbooks, including those from King Richard II's chefs, the restaurant offers a contemporary journey through British history. The dining room, a blend of tradition and innovation, features a unique pulley system and porcelain wall sconces resembling antique jelly moulds, all against the backdrop of Hyde Park.
In February 2024, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal introduced 'The Luncheon' - a journey through 'edible history'; creating sustainable menus for the future by taking inspiration from the past. The talented team at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal will be highlighting global food waste through historical storytelling and recipes dating back to the 17th Century.
