THOMPSON St Albans holds 3 Rosette status, is a Michelin recommended fine dining restaurant and has been in the hands of talented executive chef and owner, Phil Thompson since 2013. Here you will find a lounge bar where you can sit back, relax and enjoy a glass of champagne or cocktail to begin your dining experience. Wonderful dishes and flavour combinations follow, together with a selection of cheeses with a matching wine pairing of their own, decadent after dinner drinks, coffees and liqueurs. The service is attentive yet unintrusive delivered by a team that is truly passionate about guest experience.
With three different yet intimate dining areas: a cosy front room, light and airy 28–seater conservatory with adjoining terrace and French doors and an upstairs restaurant area that works for weekday and evening dining, events, such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and special occasions. For the warmer months, there is a sun-trapped terrace with further seating for 20 in a quaint Victorian-style courtyard amid trailing ivy, honeysuckle, jasmine, shrubs and flowers.
Menus range from à la carte at 2/3 courses £39/£47 to the 7 and 9 course tasting menu options at £85/£115. Something for everyone from seasoned foodies, celebrations, a midweek treat or those that are looking for something special in their restaurant experience.
