Overview
Set beneath the cathedral and castle in the heart of historic Arundel, The Town House is the first restaurant and rooms venture from husband-and-wife team Matthew and Jenni Price, shaped by more than 15 years spent working through some of the south’s most respected kitchens and dining rooms.
At its centre is a seasonal tasting menu from Matthew Price, formerly of Michelin-starred Sorrel, alongside positions at The Vineyard and The Spread Eagle Hotel. His cooking is precise, restrained and deeply rooted in seasonality, drawing together foraged ingredients, regional seafood and produce sourced from artisan suppliers across Sussex and beyond.
The charming Grade II-listed townhouse has just four bedrooms upstairs, giving the whole place the feeling of a quietly under-the-radar escape rather than a traditional hotel restaurant. There is real warmth to the project too; a long-held ambition finally realised by a couple who have spent years building their craft within some of the country’s most respected hospitality addresses.
