Bringing his talents from Tokyo’s exclusive Ginza district, Chef Shinji Kanesaka is revered for mastering the centuries-old art of Edomae sushi, earning a Michelin star within just seven months of opening his first European restaurant back in June 2023. Each omakase experience — translating to “I’ll leave it up to you” — unfolds as a finely balanced sequence of up to 20 courses, chosen and prepared in the moment with the utmost respect for seasonality and technique.

Every detail, from the bespoke hinoki-wood counters to the serene rhythm of service, reflects the understated artistry of Tokyo’s most traditional sushi houses. With only nine seats at the counter, and a four-seat private dining room for those seeking seclusion, Sushi Kanesaka offers one of London’s most intimate and transportive Michelin dining encounters.
