Barnsley House Hotel - Potager Restaurant
South Place Chop House
Lord Crewe Arms
Consett, Northumberland
Overview
Part of The Calcot Collection, Lord Crewe Arms is now an historic country hotel in the village of Blanchland, swept up in the wilds of the North Pennine Moors. However, originally built in 1165, it began its life as a guest house to the newly-formed Blanchland Abbey. The guesthouse enjoyed 400 years of self-sufficiency and kind hospitality, until the dissolution of the Abbeys of England in 1539. Now you can enjoy food that is endearingly honest, British and fresh as a daisy. Delicious, celebratory and nostalgic, the flavours demonstrate artistry and a passion for home-grown fare. Served with impeccable good taste, driven by the seasons and sourced from the Lord Crewe garden and smoke house, this is truly a copper bottomed dining experience. In the summer months, the beer garden is open for al fresco dining, boasting stunning views of the surrounding moors.
Membership benefits are also available at sister properties The Painswick and The Conseratory Restaurant at Calcot & Spa.
