Beefbar at Dear Jackie

Beefbar at Dear Jackie finds a fitting London home at Broadwick Soho, a hotel where very little is ordinary. The Monte Carlo-born restaurant brings its playful approach to serious beef to the Dear Jackie dining room, keeping both the name and a little of its Italian spirit along the way.

Beef is, unsurprisingly, the main event, with Kobe and Wagyu among the premium cuts, but Beefbar has never behaved quite like a conventional steakhouse. The menu mixes the serious stuff with street-food favourites including Croque Sando, Mini Big Smash and Wagyu kebabs, alongside pizzette, Wagyu and veal Bolognese and the rather glorious Wagyu shepherd’s pie created for London.

Upstairs and down, the flamboyance of Broadwick Soho remains very much part of the experience, with the restaurant joined by the former Bar Jackie space and terrace. It makes Beefbar as suited to lunch and drinks as it is to settling in for dinner — bold, sociable and with its tongue firmly in its cheek.
