Head Chef - Matt Weedon

Matt at the age of sixteen took a summer job as kitchen porter at Pendley Manor in Hertfordshire, and soon showed an interest in cooking - he was offered a permanent post.

This signalled the beginning of a series of roles, working his way up in fine dining restaurants: Hambleton Hall in Rutland, a Relais & Chateaux venue in America, L'Ortolan in Reading, Kish near Dublin, all leading to his first head chef role at Seaham Hall in Durham. Glennapp Castle in southwest Scotland followed, Lords of the Manor in the Cotswolds, Fallowfields Country House Hotel, The Lamb Inn in the Cotswolds, The Bell in Hampton Poyle before settling at The Feathered Nest Inn, where he's currently shaping the menu to his own style.

The Feathered Nest Country Inn is a converted 18th century malthouse in Nether Westcote overlooking the Evenlode Valley, and just a few miles from Kingham station with links to Paddington. This updated and thoughtfully refurbished Feathered Nest offers a cosy, warm and welcoming atmosphere, and serves as a convenient base from which to explore the quaint and charming villages, local attractions and rural surroundings.

This Cotswolds gastropub haven should feature on any food lover's wish list. With award-winning modern British dining served in the pub, restaurant and patio areas, and staff who aim to ensure that your experience is both memorable and enjoyable.

Ingredients where possible, are sourced locally, not only for freshness but supporting local farmers and reducing carbon footprint, and all produce is baked, fermented, churned, cured, dry aged and smoked in-house.
