Peony Painting Workshop with Sophie M Cook

Develop the skills to portray these beautiful early summer blooms in oil paint, with a focus on light and shadow.

This beginner-friendly workshop will teach you how to approach the complex form of a peony flower using comparative measurement, careful colour mixing, and painting from life. Guided by professional artist and tutor Sophie M Cook, you will learn to create a variety of pinks to express the peonies in a life-like way.

Sophie will demonstrate and guide you through the colour mixing and painting process Painting in an 'alla prima' technique, you will have a finished painting at the end of the workshop to be truly proud of.

Materials and equipment are all included but participants are also welcome to bring their own brushes if they would like.
