The Lake Country House Hotel
Powys, Mid Wales / Brecon Beacons
Remove all distraction, relax and savour the breathtaking Welsh countryside at this stunning, privately-owned luxurious country house hotel. With it's enviable location, equal distance between two of the most beautiful national parks (The Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia), it's spot on the banks of the River Irfon makes The Lake Country Hotel Hotel a complete retreat. Built originally in 1804 as a Hunting and Fishing Lodge and remodelled in 1900, the hotel has a rich history; from the turn of the twentieth century until World War II, it was the only barium spa resort outside of Germany. The half-timbering of the exterior epitomises mock-Tudor, yet the verandas and French windows give the property a colonial air. The dining room is a stunning period setting, where the kitchen team bring together delicious local produce and influences from nature to serve you hand-crafted dishes that you won't want to end. The cellar houses an enviable 300+ different types of wine from around the world so you can be sure to enjoy your favourite tipple, or why not try something a little different while you have the opportunity.
