The Elder is the brainchild of Mike Robinson, one of Britain’s leading authorities on wild food and game with Executive Head Chef Gavin Edney at the helm. Mike is Co-Owner of The Harwood Arms in Fulham, London’s only Michelin Starred pub, as well as owner of The Woodsman in Stratford upon Avon and The Forge in Chester, all specialising in game and British wild food.
Sustainability is core - incredible lengths are gone to, to ensure all meat, fish and veg are grown or harvested humanely and with care. The Elder wild food offering is unique in the UK - as they are able to control wild deer herds on the private estates and process the venison in their own FSA regulated larder.
Guests are sometimes able to take a tour of the kitchen, wine cellars and in-house butchery, to speak with the huntsman and chefs about their field to plate philosophy, or even visit the local estates.
