China Tang at The Dorchester

Established in 2005, China Tang at The Dorchester is widely regarded as one of the finest Cantonese restaurants outside of China. Conceived by the late Sir David Tang, this iconic Mayfair institution transports guests into the elegant world of 1930s Shanghai through its stunning art deco interiors, adorned with chinoiserie, quirky objets d’art, and a carefully curated collection of Chinese art.

China Tang’s culinary philosophy remains rooted in tradition, offering some of the most authentic Cantonese dishes, including the renowned Peking Duck and over 30 varieties of dim sum. Every dish is prepared with the freshest ingredients and a delicate balance of traditional spices. The restaurant also boasts an impressive wine cellar with over 10,000 bottles, as well as three luxurious private dining rooms – Ping, Pang and Pong – ideal for exclusive gatherings.

Under the leadership of Head Chef Chong Choi Fong, China Tang at The Dorchester maintains its high standards of excellence. Chef Fong oversees all China Tang London kitchens, including the recently launched Dim Sum by China Tang at Harrods, ensuring exceptional quality across all locations.

Following Sir David Tang’s passing in 2017, China Tang has continued to thrive under the ownership of Lai Sun Dining, a leading hospitality group chaired by Dr Peter Lam. With over 25 venues worldwide and an impressive portfolio of 8 Michelin stars, Lai Sun Dining is dedicated to upholding the legacy of Sir David Tang and maintaining the high standards for which China Tang is known.
