Michelin Guide 2010: UK has more starred restaurants than ever before
More stars have been awarded to UK restaurants than at any other time in its 35 year history, confirming Britain’s place on the gastronomic world stage.
Congratulations to Design Restaurant’s the Bingham in Richmond, and Tamarind in London, who have both been awarded a star in the 2010 list, as well as to all our recognised restaurants who have retained their standing in this prestigious awarding.
Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester was awarded the top 3 star honour, making four UK restaurants with the highest accolade of 3 stars.
In total 140 restaurants have been recognised by Michelin with a star, the highest number Britain has ever won. 137 stars were awarded here in 2009.
Design Restaurants remains the UK’s only Gourmet Club specialising in fine dining, with an unprecedented number of Michelin starred restaurants offering cardholder benefits.
