Eight Outdoor Dining Restaurants For Right Now

Luxury Restaurant Guide shares its eight favourite places open now to spend sunny (and safe) days this summer:

Cliveden House, Cliveden Road, Taplow, Maidenhead, Berkshire SL6 0JF

Cliveden-min (1)

There’s two great outdoor experiences you can enjoy at the magnificent Cliveden. The first is the Veuve Clicquot pop-up available until 17th August, from 12pm to 5pm everyday. They’ve transformed the courtyard into a retro suntrap for foodies with a love for laidback luxury. Takeaways of fluffy scones (and all the trimmings), fish and chips and the Astor Grill burger are on offer from the impressive Veuve Clicquot airstream. Of course pair with a chilled glass (or bottle!) or Veuve Clicquot. And if you wish to enjoy your food nearby, they’ve have laid out seating, positioned appropriately to give you peace of mind yet a sense of normality. This ones not bookable in advance!

Then there’s always the more extensive dining menu on offer at The Astor Grill to enjoy in the courtyard of the charming old stable block which once Lord Astor’s prized fillies (the four legged variety). See sample menu here. Luxury Restaurant Club member dining privileges apply, download free app here for details.

We love: Perfect to sip, savour and spend time with loved ones in National Trust grounds

La Famiglia, 7 Langton Street, Chelsea, London SW10 0JL

La Fig-min

The fact La Famiglia has never needed any fancy hype – if you get it right first time round – don’t mess with it, is a testament to how good it is. Diners have been in the safe hands of this trusted family business in a quiet spot off Kings Road for over 45 years. They are working on 50% less capacity to keep you safe through out the restaurant and garden restaurant area.

We like: A Tuscan gastro-heaven whenever you go

Thyme, Ox Barn, Southrop Manor Estate, Gloucestershire GL7 3NX

Thyme Estate has always been about nature, so dining inside or out, with their large spaces, is reassuring and refreshing. They are offering a reopening summer lunch menu to enjoy outdoors on the south-facing terrace of their Ox Barn. Starters £5 to £15, main courses £5 to £25 and deserts £5 to £10. We like: It’s got the air of chic but hip country club without the membership fee. The place, people and cooking are all devoted towards being just simply healthier

The Garden at The Berkeley, Wilton Place, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7RL

The new addition to the hotel, ‘The Garden at The Berkeley’ is a secret little culinary spot between the side of the hotel and neighbouring St Paul’s Church. We say secret, but it’s been thriving with success since launch on July 4th. It offers socially distanced tables for two to six people and is open Monday to Friday 6 – 10pm and Saturday and Sunday 12noon – 10pm.  Last seating is at 9pm.  Booking is available for the first sitting, followed by walk-ins only.  View the Garden menu here.
