Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons to Close in 2026 for Major Redevelopment

9th Sep 2025

Raymond Blanc’s legendary Oxfordshire retreat, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, will temporarily close in January 2026 for a landmark redevelopment, with a grand reopening planned for summer 2027.

The news marks a defining moment in the story of one of Britain’s most celebrated culinary destinations. Founded by Raymond Blanc OBE in 1984 and operated by Belmond, the two Michelin-starred manor will undergo a visionary transformation — one that promises to honour its extraordinary legacy while reimagining its future as a leader in sustainable, luxury hospitality.

“This is not simply a renovation,” says Blanc. “It’s a reinvestment in creativity, sustainability, and the spirit of excellence that defines us.”

A Legacy Beyond the Plate

Le Manoir has long been more than a restaurant with rooms. It has been a crucible of talent — launching the careers of icons such as Michael Caines, Luke Selby, Ollie Dabbous, and Eric Chavot — all of whom were inspired by the values, precision and generosity of their mentor.

Rooted in sustainability and seasonality, Le Manoir’s organic potager gardens have become synonymous with Raymond Blanc’s philosophy of garden gastronomy — a movement that has since influenced restaurants across the UK and beyond.

A Belmond Vision for the Future

The redevelopment forms part of Belmond’s wider commitment to cultural stewardship, joining recent transformations of iconic properties such as Villa San Michele in Florence and Splendido in Portofino.

And as Le Manoir prepares to rest, reimagine, and return, guests are encouraged to step through its famous front doors one more time — for one more glass of Blanc de Blancs in the lavender-scented air, one more spoonful of garden-grown perfection.

This is not an ending.
It’s a moment to pause, savour, and celebrate — together.
