The name of the restaurant is a line from The Wizard of Oz which is rumoured to be a pop at the cult of the celebrity chef and Chef Patron and Great British Menu finalist Michael O'Hare (who goes by the twitter name @hairmetalchef) is certainly a new breed of chef.
Recently landing his first Michelin star, the restaurant offers a multi-course tasting menu in 'an environment intended for your enjoyment'. Situated above a clothes shop you enter via an escort through the shop to a lift which takes you to the third floor.
The huge white room is minimalist with high beams and huge artworks designed by the chefs friends. The influences in the menu are eclectic but Spain and Asia feature heavily (think Arzak) and dishes are named such things as "Inception of spacecat in black" and "Marc Bolan wasn't a welder" so don't expect anything traditional. The previously local cult following O'Hare is going mainstream and there is talk of him being the next Blumenthal.
