This September, Chelsea comes alive as Chelsea Arts Festival returns from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 September for five extraordinary days of culture, creativity and community across one of London’s most iconic neighbourhoods.
At Cadogan Hall, Booker Prize-winner Bernardine Evaristo hosts an evening with friends including Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Bonnie Garmus, Jacqueline Crooks and Joelle Taylor, presented by the Women’s Prize. Mishal Husain, Lauren Cuthbertson and Nish Kumar take on London’s Blue Plaques, while Susie Cave and Bella Freud discuss creativity, style, motherhood and surviving loss. Rambert marks its centenary with a landmark performance, and NYJO performs music from Miles Davis and Nina Simone. The programme also includes Shaun Usher’s Diaries of Note with Celia Imrie, Denise Gough and Lucas Jones, Katherine Rundell’s family-friendly event and A Poem for Every Night of the Year with Asa Butterfield, Samantha Spiro, Giles Terera and Tamsin Greig.
At Saatchi Gallery, highlights include architect John Pawson CBE in conversation, a special night marking 50 Years of Punk, Emma Gannon and Professor Daisy Fancourt exploring the transformative power of creativity, The London Theatre Review record live and are joined by Indhu Rubasingham, and BookBar championing debut authors including Marcia Hutchinson, Jem Calder and Sufiyaan Salam.
