A smart new Eastern Mediterranean inspired restaurant from Athens born photographer and restaurateur Jenny Pagoni with and impressive indigenous Greek wine list curated by Greek Master of Wine Yiannis Karankasis. The imputus behind the restaurants creation is Jenny's longing for the hospitality and cusine of her homeland since moving to the UK in 2004.
Ampeli will feature dishes inspired by both Greek and Easter Mediterranean cultuires created by Head Chef Oren Goldfeld, previously from Nopi, Brother Marcus and Tel Aviv-based Toto. Dishes include social plates perfect for sharing such as feta saganaki with tomato jam or okra and goat's chesse fritters; to heartier dishes like pan-fried Welsh lamb sweetbreads with Jerusalem mixed spice, a punchy blend of cardamom, cumin, turmeric, allspice and paprika, served with almond sauce and pickles, or a comforting short rib stew with quince and date molasses.
