L'Enclume

L'Enclume is Simon Rogan's three Michelin-starred restaurant located in the Lake District village of Cartmel, which is widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading dining destinations. The restaurant is situated in a former 13th-century blacksmith’s workshop. This restaurant holds a farm-to-table philosophy at its core, with a focus on the ingredients grown at Simon’s farm in the Cartmel Valley, Our Farm. It is here where Simon and his team work throughout the year to grow vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers, whilst closely studying the seasons, soil and sunlight to ensure growing methods are never standing still. Exex Chef Paul Burgalières oversees L'Enclume's highly-finessed menu, which focuses on locality above all and gives prominence to each and every ingredient. The restaurant has a total of 16bedrooms, which are spread around the historic village. In 2022, L'Enclume celebrated its 20 year anniversary and is one of only nine restaurants in the UK that have received the coveted three Michelin star status. L'Enclume was also one of only two UK restaurants to score 98 in La Liste 2023. In 2024,L’Enclume was awarded the joint first ranking by La Liste, the first British restaurant to achieve this honour. In the same year, L’Enclume’s Head Sommelier, Valentin Mouillard, was awarded the special Michelin Sommelier Prize for his wine programme at the restaurant.
