Executive Head Chef - Michael Lloyd

Michael joined the team at Tylney Hall Hotel & Gardens in 2016, bringing a three AA Rosette background to enhance the hotel's dining experience. A fully trained fishmonger as a teenager, 

A full-time chef after graduating from Bristol University with a degree in psychology, Michael has worked for a collection of fine-dining restaurants and country house hotels, including Heckfield Place and The Vineyard in Stockcross. Prior to starting at Tylney Hall, Michael held the role of Executive Head Chef at the Compleat Angler in Marlow, where in two and a half years he took the restaurant from two AA Rosettes to three. 

Michael is passionate about the training and development of young chefs and is supporting the three apprentices from Bournemouth College who are currently learning the ropes in the kitchen at Tylney Hall. Michael has brought his individual style of modern British dining to Tylney Hall and with a team of 19 is responsible for overseeing all of the hotel’s dining, including the 2 AA Rosette Oak Room Restaurant, lounge dining, room service and conference and banqueting.

Tylney Hall is a Grade II listed building and remains an outstanding example of a luxury country house hotel that has never lost its old world sense of charm, whether you are visiting for business or pleasure. As you arrive you are swept along a tree-lined avenue and then all at once the magnificent Victorian era mansion house appears, its full beauty slowly revealed as you drive through the avenue of trees that frames the approach.

The award winning Oak Room Restaurant has a reputation for fine cuisine and luxurious surroundings. Its domed ceiling, oak panelled walls, crackling log fire and gentle piano accompaniment create the perfect atmosphere to wine and dine, while enjoying views over the immaculately manicured gardens and across the stunning vista lined with giant redwood.

Executive Head Chef Michael Lloyd and his team take pride in creating both traditional and innovative dishes.
