Local chef, restaurateur and food writer, Mark Hix, has opened his latest venture, just four miles from Beaminster in the heart of the Dorset countryside.

The Grade II listed building pretty much constitutes the perfect country pub. Thatched roof, open fires, local meat and game dishes, hearty pub classics, some fish dishes, and the all-important Sunday roast. Mark's created a main dining area, Bill's Garden Room, named after his late grandfather, and a cosy Fox Room with illustrations from his daughter Lydia, and Country Kitchen Library, to host dinners and events.

Open Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 11pm (last bookings 8.30pm) Sunday 11am - 5pm (last bookings 3.30pm).
